Tesla fire expands to 300 acres, caused by crash

(KRON) — Firefighters responded to a 300-acre fire in the vicinity of Tesla Road and Corral Hollow Road on Thursday afternoon, which is east of Livermore. As of 8:30 p.m., the fire had grown to 300 acres in size, according to Cal Fire.

Cal Fire told KRON4 that the fire was caused by a car crashing into a tree and erupting in fire. The fire was first reported at 15600 Tesla Road.

Crews will be fighting the fire through the night. New crews will be sent Friday morning to take over for the day, Cal Fire said.

It is another fire in what’s been a busy day for Bay Area firefighters. Brush fires have also burned in Vacaville, Port Costa, Benicia and Pleasanton.
